If you ever wondered what happened to those flying toasters from that After Dark screen saver from the 90's ... watch the skies. They are out there. Beware.
WTF??? I don't know how or why there are flying toasters, but I gotta admit, it made me laugh out loud more than any other webcomic I read today. Nice!
Just what I needed today an 1989 flashback. I was working on a Mac II with 1MB of RAM, 20 MB hard drive and communicated over appletalk on a network that we had so many users overloaded onto that it was often faster to sneakernet files on floppy disks to each other. And I had these damned flying toasters on my screen. I never did figure out, are the toasters chasing the toast, or is the toast chasing the toasters?
What's next, bungee jumping cows? Oh wait, I liked the pile of steaks, burgers and hot dogs the cows burst into when the rope broke - so go right ahead.
Great comic, and those old days weren't too bad. Granted MUDs were no WoW. But they kept us off the streets and out of the bars. and, like Walter probably did, I had more hair back then.

Mike, Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of non sequitur humor, so when I can work it into the strip I will.
David, I remember those days too. The After Dark screen savers were a common and sought after feature for any PC of the day.
